Jellyfish Power Distribution System
The grid network in the UK is under stress; it needs to balance supply and demand to maintain optimum capacity, but this is difficult due to:
- Aging infrastructure
- Increasing Energy consumption
- Lack of flexibility
The Jellyfish system has been designed to distribute renewable energy generation directly to local consumers. It enables multiple consumers to be connected to the same local renewable generation source simultaneously – using all the renewable generation locally without having to export to the grid. The Jellyfish system provides;
- Cheaper local renewable power for businesses
- Higher returns for the generator and
- Frees up capacity on the grid network.
“It was a pleasure to work with Infinite in setting up the new service, which will allow a wider range of business to access renewable energy generation and cut their energy costs, while removing much of the bureaucracy and initial costs normally involved. We know more and more businesses are interested in switching to greener energy sources, and the support provided via IRW will help even more businesses to make that change.”
Ashley Jones, Senior Investment Executive at the Development Bank of Wales
“To showcase how a renewable energy system can lead the future of energy, we wanted to install wind, solar and battery storage on the global climate stage at COP28 in Dubai. Having worked with Infinite Renewables over the past couple of years, on projects like the Glastonbury wind turbine, we knew they were the perfect partner to help us bring to life this installation in such a short amount of time. We have some really exciting projects in line with Infinite which will continue to showcase their global network and unrivalled ability as we look ahead into 2024.”
Paul Loran, Director at Octopus Energy Generation
“Albion is thrilled to be bringing its local energy expertise to enable this ‘first of a kind’ project alongside the Infinite team and the Royal Mint. It is an important signpost in how the UK can achieve net zero emissions, democratise the energy system and support employment in the area. It is a very exciting step forward.”
