Montagne Jeunesse, Port Talbot – Turbine Removal

A redundant 20kW Gazelle turbine at Montagne Jeunesse premises in Port Talbot was removed by Infinite in July 2024. The component parts of the redundant turbine were recycled and the site will be re-powered by Infinite once the new tenants are in situ at the premises.

Many FiT (Feed in Tariff) scale turbine models were based on technology developed in the 1980s when the wind industry began to emerge in Denmark and northern Germany. As such, the designs of many early FiT turbines erected in the UK were typically smaller capacity machines based on technology from a previous era. This resulted in limitations both in terms of output capacity and overall performance.

Many of these early wind turbine manufacturers no longer exist and the machines are now obsolete. Infinite offer all the services required to remove these wind turbines and repower with new models to maximise the returns from obsolete turbine development sites.
