Gusty Spinfield, a 45kW Bestwatt turbine, continued its travels to Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s River Cottage after a successful week at Glastonbury Music Festival. Infinite worked in collaboration with a major energy supplier to bring renewable energy to River Cottage for a month. The turbine tower is 20 metres tall, spray-painted purple with tentacle decor and pink blades that measure 8 metres long. Infinite designed the ballasted foundation for the installation and project managed the development which included the planning, layout and installation of the mobile turbine.
The turbine powered 4 EV charging points that could be used by drivers for free. Additionally, the cottage reached out to local schools and offered free educational visits to teach students about the power of renewable energy.
Gusty Spinfield is part of the ‘try before you buy’ scheme which allows communities to try out a wind turbine in their neighbourhood. Infinite has relocated the turbine to a range of locations including Alexandra Palace in London, Glastonbury in Somerset and Köpenicker Strasse in Berlin. Infinite is an authorised supplier of Bestwatt small scale turbines.
